Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Stagehand to join our dynamic team, supporting a diverse range of theatre productions and live concerts across Leith and wider Edinburgh. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals passionate about the performing arts and live events, eager to contribute their technical expertise to create unforgettable experiences. As a Stagehand, you will be a crucial part of our production crew, responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and strike of stage equipment, ensuring every performance runs flawlessly from curtain up to the final encore. Your hands-on contribution will directly shape the visual and auditory spectacle that captivates audiences, transforming artistic visions into tangible realities on stage.
Our ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of theatrical rigging, lighting, sound, and set construction, coupled with an unwavering commitment to safety. You’ll work closely with production managers, lighting designers, sound engineers, and fellow crew members in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. This role demands not only technical proficiency but also a keen eye for detail, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and an absolute adherence to all safety protocols and industry best practices. You’ll be involved in every stage of a production, from the meticulous loading and unloading of intricate equipment, the precise positioning of scenery and props, operating fly systems, to assisting with essential prop management and the basic maintenance of stage machinery. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to apply and expand your skills, whether it’s a high-energy rock concert demanding rapid changeovers or an intricate dramatic play requiring delicate adjustments.
Beyond the technical aspects, this role offers a unique chance to be at the heart of the cultural vibrancy of Edinburgh. You will witness firsthand the magic created by artists and play a vital role in enabling their performances. If you thrive in a collaborative atmosphere, enjoy the adrenaline of live events, and are dedicated to the seamless execution of technical aspects, Career.zycto offers a stimulating platform for your talents. We value innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning, providing a supportive environment where you can grow your expertise, tackle complex technical challenges, and make a tangible impact on world-class productions. Join us in bringing the magic of live performance to audiences throughout Edinburgh and contribute to moments that resonate long after the final bow.
