Job Description
Are you a meticulous and proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for efficient supply chain management? Progressive Grocers of Jamaica Limited, operators of Hi-Lo Food Stores, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Stock Controller to join our dynamic team at our Stony Hill location. In the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of retail, effective inventory management is not just a function; it is absolutely crucial to our success, directly impacting product availability, minimizing waste, maximizing customer satisfaction, and ultimately, driving profitability.
As a Stock Controller, you will be at the forefront of ensuring optimal stock levels, preventing wastage, and continuously streamlining our supply chain processes. This pivotal role involves much more than just counting goods; you will be instrumental in analyzing complex inventory data, accurately forecasting demand based on sales trends and seasonality, coordinating seamlessly with our network of local and international suppliers, and implementing best-in-class practices for storage, rotation, and distribution within our facility. You will hold the primary responsibility for maintaining impeccably accurate inventory records using our advanced inventory management systems, conducting regular and thorough physical stock audits, and swiftly identifying and resolving any discrepancies to ensure the absolute integrity of our stock holdings. Your expertise and diligence will directly contribute to preventing costly stock-outs of essential and high-demand items, significantly reducing overstocking of slow-moving products, and ensuring that our shelves are consistently replenished with the freshest and most desirable goods for our valued customers.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a challenging, high-volume environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and can communicate effectively and persuasively across all levels of the organization. You will work closely with department managers, our dedicated receiving teams, and store leadership to ensure seamless and efficient daily operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a high-impact position, contribute significantly to a leading national retail brand, and grow your career within a supportive, progressive, and employee-focused company. If you are ready to take full ownership of our inventory, drive operational efficiency, and play a critical role in our continued success and market leadership, we invite you to apply and become a vital part of the Hi-Lo Food Stores family.
