Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments, meticulously verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately count, tag, and organize inventory items within designated storage areas or the sales floor, ensuring optimal space utilization.
- Assist with regular inventory counts, including cycle counts and annual physical inventory, to maintain precise stock records.
- Utilize inventory management software or systems to accurately record stock movements, transfers, and update inventory levels.
- Identify and promptly report any discrepancies, damaged goods, expired products, or potential issues to the supervisor.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and complete documentation for timely dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory storage and working area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Support store staff with stock replenishment, product location inquiries, and retrieval of items as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and inventory control procedures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in tasks
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) safely and repeatedly
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even part-time or volunteer) in a retail, warehouse, or inventory-related role
- Familiarity with inventory management software or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
- Forklift certification (an asset, but not required for entry-level)
