Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior surveyors and technicians in all aspects of field operations, including setting up and taking down surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS receivers, levels).
- Carry and handle equipment and materials to and from survey sites, which may involve walking over varied terrain and exposure to different weather conditions.
- Clear brush, vegetation, and obstacles to establish clear lines of sight for surveying measurements.
- Hold survey rods, range poles, and prism poles accurately and steadily as directed by the survey party chief.
- Mark and record survey points, boundary lines, and other relevant features using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Assist with data collection, recording legible and accurate field notes, and ensuring the completeness of information gathered.
- Maintain and clean surveying equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly stored for daily operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures strictly to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the entire team.
- Learn and apply basic surveying principles and terminology as guided by experienced personnel.
- Provide general logistical support to the survey crew as needed, contributing to efficient project execution.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of mathematics and measurements.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

- Basic communication skills in English and Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of local geography and terrain in Zanzibar.
