Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Swimming Instructor to join our growing team in Downtown, Zachary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about aquatic safety and eager to inspire confidence in swimmers of all ages, particularly children, as they embark on their aquatic journey.

As an Entry-Level Swimming Instructor, you will be instrumental in teaching fundamental swimming skills, promoting water safety awareness, and fostering a love for swimming in a positive and supportive environment. You will work closely with our experienced instructors and benefit from a robust mentorship program designed to help you hone your teaching techniques, deepen your understanding of various learning styles, and grow professionally within the aquatics field. While prior formal instruction experience isn’t required, a natural knack for connecting with people, especially children, along with excellent swimming proficiency and an unwavering commitment to safety, are absolute musts.

Your days will be filled with energizing activities, from demonstrating proper stroke mechanics to patiently guiding beginners through their first successful paddle. You’ll be responsible for explaining complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each student, and providing constructive feedback that builds confidence. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons to individuals and small groups, primarily focusing on children and beginners.
  • Teach fundamental swimming strokes, water safety principles, and basic aquatic skills according to established curriculum.
  • Ensure a safe and positive learning environment by actively supervising participants, enforcing pool rules, and responding promptly to emergencies.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to students, adapting teaching methods to suit various learning styles and abilities.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any incidents.
  • Assist with the setup and take-down of equipment for lessons.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere strictly to all facility safety protocols, emergency procedures, and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire)

  • Familiarity with various swim instruction methodologies
  • High school diploma or equivalent
