Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks crucial to our success, from managing licensing requests and preparing necessary documentation to maintaining our music database with meticulous accuracy. Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming sync licensing requests, ensuring all necessary information is gathered accurately.
- Draft, review, and manage sync licenses and associated agreements, liaising with legal counsel as needed.
- Maintain and update our comprehensive music catalog database, including metadata, rights information, and audio files.
- Assist in pitching suitable music from our catalog to various media productions (film, TV, advertising, games, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with artists, publishers, labels, and clients regarding licensing terms, fees, and clearance procedures.
- Track and report on sync licensing revenue and pipeline activities.
- Support the Sync Licensing Manager in strategic initiatives and market research.
- Manage invoicing and payment tracking for licensed placements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant copyright laws and industry standards.
- Provide administrative support to the Sync Licensing department as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (30 months) in music licensing, copyright, or a related field within the music industry.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of music rights (publishing, master rights) and copyright law.
- Proficiency in database management and standard office software (MS Office Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Familiarity with sync licensing software/platforms (e.g., DISCO, Rightsholder.io).
- Experience with CRM systems and project management tools.
- A passion for diverse music genres and a good ear for music placement potential.
