Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions), server hardware, and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage network infrastructure components including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs, ensuring optimal connectivity and security.
- Implement and maintain robust security protocols, perform regular security audits, and manage user access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
- Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff, resolving complex issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with development teams and other stakeholders on project implementation, system upgrades, and seamless integration.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures thoroughly, maintaining clear and current records for reference and training.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required, ensuring critical systems are monitored 24/7.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022), including administration and troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience with Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) in a production environment.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) and network security.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Proven experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and comprehensive user management.
- Competency in scripting for automation using languages like PowerShell and Bash.
- Familiarity with various backup and recovery solutions and strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA).

- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
