Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tableau Developer to join our growing data and analytics team in Whitley Bay. If you are passionate about transforming complex data into intuitive, insightful, and aesthetically pleasing visualisations that empower business users to make informed decisions, we want to hear from you. This is a critical role where you will leverage your expertise in Tableau to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable intelligence across various departments. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that drive strategic initiatives and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL proficiency, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring data accuracy and reporting integrity. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather and understand data and reporting requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Connect to various data sources, perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes within Tableau, and ensure data integrity.
  • Optimise Tableau workbooks and data sources for performance and scalability.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and enhance existing Tableau solutions.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data visualization, dashboard design, and Tableau usage.
  • Conduct training and provide documentation for end-users on how to effectively use developed dashboards.
  • Stay current with Tableau features, updates, and best practices in data visualisation and business intelligence.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Tableau Developer, with a strong portfolio of dashboard examples.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and ETL processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Associate certification.
  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView).
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
