Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of complex tax issues.
- Advise clients on federal, state, and local tax planning, compliance, and controversy matters.
- Draft and review legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, agreements, and pleadings.
- Represent clients in audits, appeals, and litigation before the IRS, state tax authorities, and tax courts.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning solutions for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
- Assist clients with mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and other corporate activities from a tax perspective.
- Stay current with changes in tax law, regulations, and judicial decisions.
- Collaborate with other legal teams and external advisors to provide integrated client solutions.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring timely and effective communication and service delivery.
Required Skills
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Mississippi Bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing tax law.
- Profound knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and judicial precedents.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
