Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Consultant with a deep understanding of VAT, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax regulations to join our expanding team in St Helens, Liverpool. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on VAT, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax matters to a varied client portfolio.
- Manage the end-to-end tax compliance process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of returns.
- Conduct thorough tax planning and advisory projects, identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies and risk mitigation.
- Research and interpret complex tax legislation, providing clear and concise explanations to clients.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and objectives.
- Assist in tax due diligence for M&A activities and corporate restructuring projects.
- Represent clients in discussions with HMRC, resolving queries and disputes effectively.
- Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure proactive client service.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the firm's knowledge sharing initiatives.
Required Skills
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in a tax-focused role within practice or industry.
- Proven expertise in UK VAT, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines effectively.
