Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that align with provincial curriculum standards.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and student participation.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student development and address diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and educational technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives to contribute to the broader school community.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to student safety and conduct.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events as opportunities arise, fostering a holistic educational experience.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in Canada.
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a K-12 setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Eligibility for provincial teaching certification (e.g., Saskatchewan Professional A Certificate) upon arrival.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, staying current with educational trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching specific subject areas in high demand (e.g., Math, Science, French, English as an Additional Language).
  • Experience working with English as a Second Language (ESL) or EAL students.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian education system and curriculum frameworks.
  • Additional certifications in special education, educational technology, or educational leadership.
