Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join vibrant primary and secondary school settings across Harborne, Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an immediate start, supporting student learning and development on a term-time-only basis. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of pupils. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide tailored support to individuals and small groups, and assist in creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere. Your daily tasks will be varied, ranging from preparing learning resources and helping with classroom displays to assisting with behavioural management and supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils, aiding their understanding and progress.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Help to create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, adapting materials as required.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies, promoting positive conduct and social skills.
- Contribute to the assessment and recording of pupil progress under teacher guidance.
- Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and during classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members as part of the school team.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
- Proven experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching Assistant Qualification (Level 2 or 3).
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of various learning strategies and educational technologies.
