Key Responsibilities
- Research current and future textile trends, colour palettes, and material innovations.
- Develop original textile prints, patterns, and surface designs using both traditional and digital methods.
- Create detailed technical specifications for textile designs, including repeats, colour separations, and material requirements.
- Prepare design presentations and communicate design concepts effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product development, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and production quality.
- Select appropriate fabrics, yarns, and embellishments for various product lines.
- Oversee the sampling process, providing feedback and making adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain an organized library of designs, samples, and technical data.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and sustainable textile solutions.
- Contribute to the creative direction and overall aesthetic vision of collections.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original textile design work.
- Excellent understanding of textile printing techniques, weaving, knitting, and dyeing processes.
- Exceptional colour sense and pattern development skills.
