Job Description

Are you an organized, friendly, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for helping people explore the wonders of Zanzibar? The Loop Beach Resort is seeking a dedicated Ticketing Office Clerk to join our vibrant team in Pingwe, Michamvi. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests looking to book excursions, transfers, and various activities, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience from inquiry to confirmation. You will be instrumental in processing and managing all guest bookings, providing comprehensive and accurate information about local attractions, tours, and resort services. This includes everything from diving trips to spice farm tours and airport transfers. You’ll be responsible for handling reservations, issuing tickets, processing payments through various systems, and maintaining meticulous records. Beyond the administrative tasks, a crucial aspect of this role is customer engagement. You’ll be expected to actively listen to guest preferences, offer tailored recommendations, and resolve any inquiries or issues with a professional and welcoming demeanor. A deep understanding of local culture, geography, and tourist offerings across Zanzibar will be essential to excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process all guest inquiries and bookings for excursions, transfers, and resort activities.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information about local attractions, services, and pricing.
  • Issue tickets and confirmations, ensuring all booking details are correct.
  • Process payments efficiently using various payment methods and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all resort offerings and local tour options.
  • Assist guests with itinerary planning and offer personalized recommendations.
  • Resolve guest complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., front desk, operations) to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming ticketing office environment.
  • Contribute to a positive guest experience by providing exceptional customer service.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in customer service or a front-facing hospitality role (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, email).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zanzibar's tourist attractions, activities, and local culture.
  • A friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with reservation systems or ticketing software.
