Job Description
Are you a master of precision, an artisan of engineering, and a problem-solver at heart? Cimerwa Plc, Rwanda’s leading cement manufacturer, is on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Tool and Die Maker to join our dynamic engineering team in Rusizi, Western Province. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your expertise in a pivotal role, contributing directly to the operational efficiency and success of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be instrumental in the design, construction, repair, and maintenance of various tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and specialized machinery components essential for our cement production processes. Your work will involve meticulously interpreting blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings to fabricate high-precision parts from a variety of materials, ensuring they meet exact specifications and rigorous quality standards. You will operate a wide range of sophisticated machine tools, including manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and potentially EDM equipment.
Beyond fabrication, a significant part of your role will involve troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with existing tooling, implementing corrective actions, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize production flow. You will be expected to recommend improvements to tool designs and manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, durability, and safety. This requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Working in a fast-paced industrial environment, you will collaborate closely with engineers, production supervisors, and maintenance technicians to support various projects, from new equipment installation to continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure will be crucial. Safety is paramount at Cimerwa, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, contributing to a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
This role is not just about making parts; it’s about crafting solutions that keep a critical industry moving forward.
