Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with the setup and execution of translation projects.
- Prepare source documents for translation, including formatting, conversion, and linguistic analysis.
- Manage and organize translation memory, terminology databases, and glossaries.
- Coordinate communication between project managers, translators, and proofreaders.
- Perform initial quality checks on translated documents to ensure adherence to guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, status, and resource allocation.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and report generation.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects by monitoring deadlines and escalating potential issues.
- Collaborate with the broader team to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
- Provide general office support as needed to ensure a productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of translation processes and tools (e.g., CAT tools)
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field
- Experience with translation management systems (TMS)
- Familiarity with style guides and terminology management
- Proficiency in a second language (beyond English)
- Prior experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a language service provider
