Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transport schedules and routes for optimal efficiency.
  • Liaise with drivers, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Manage vehicle allocation, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption records.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and national transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Track and report on transport performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Resolve operational issues and emergencies quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including dispatch logs, delivery notes, and expense reports.
  • Utilize transport management systems (TMS) or similar software for planning and tracking.
  • Negotiate with transport vendors and suppliers to secure competitive rates and services.
  • Conduct regular audits of transport processes to ensure continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in transport coordination or logistics management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Nairobi road networks and transport regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and transport management software.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
