Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transport schedules and routes for optimal efficiency.
- Liaise with drivers, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Manage vehicle allocation, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption records.
- Ensure compliance with all local and national transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Track and report on transport performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Resolve operational issues and emergencies quickly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including dispatch logs, delivery notes, and expense reports.
- Utilize transport management systems (TMS) or similar software for planning and tracking.
- Negotiate with transport vendors and suppliers to secure competitive rates and services.
- Conduct regular audits of transport processes to ensure continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in transport coordination or logistics management.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Nairobi road networks and transport regulations.
