Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload freight by hand or using material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) onto and off trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and other documentation.
- Properly stack, organize, and secure cargo within trucks to prevent damage during transit, adhering to weight distribution guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including performing routine equipment checks.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding loading schedules, discrepancies, and operational issues.
- Assist in general warehouse duties as required, including inventory organization and order picking.
- Operate warehouse management systems or handheld scanners to track inventory movement (where applicable).
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lift and move heavy objects frequently (up to 50 lbs or more) throughout a shift.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for standing, walking, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to read and understand shipping labels, manifests, and instructions in English.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in verifying and organizing cargo.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States (support for overseas workers provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding environment.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
