Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and reliable Van Driver to join our growing team in Restalrig, Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity for an English-speaking professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safe, efficient, and timely delivery. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations within Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. You will navigate city streets and local routes, ensuring all deliveries are made accurately and professionally. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company van to deliver various goods to designated locations across Edinburgh and its environs.
  • Perform pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the van is in excellent working order and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing items to prevent damage during transit.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and relevant paperwork, including proof of delivery and mileage reports.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing Career.zycto with integrity.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting and organizing inventory, as required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the company vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK Category B driving license with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding areas
  • Ability to lift and carry packages safely, demonstrating good physical fitness
  • Proven reliability and punctuality
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards customer service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in multi-drop delivery or courier services
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics
  • First Aid certification (desirable)
