As a Vehicle Rental Clerk at our Koani location, you will be the friendly face of Zancars Zanzibar, responsible for guiding customers through the rental process from start to finish. This includes managing bookings, processing paperwork, explaining rental terms and conditions clearly, and ensuring a seamless vehicle handover experience. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, understand their vehicle rental needs, and provide suitable options.
- Process vehicle rental agreements, including verification of documents, driver's licenses, and payment details.
- Explain rental terms and conditions, insurance options, and vehicle features clearly and concisely.
- Inspect vehicles with customers at pick-up and drop-off, documenting any existing damage.
- Manage and update rental reservations, cancellations, and extensions in the booking system.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide recommendations for local attractions or routes.
- Process payments accurately and reconcile daily transactions.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the rental office and vehicle staging area.
- Coordinate with the vehicle maintenance team for timely preparation and servicing of rental cars.
- Assist with marketing efforts and promote additional services or upgrades.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, email, internet).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Valid Tanzanian driving license (Class B minimum) with a clean driving record.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
