Job Description

Are you passionate about community building and bridging cultural divides? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and culturally-sensitive Volunteer Coordinator to lead our efforts in engaging and supporting international volunteers within the vibrant city of Edinburgh. This unique role focuses specifically on connecting foreigners—new residents, students, and visitors—with meaningful volunteer opportunities that not only benefit our local projects but also provide invaluable integration experiences and skill development for participants.

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our mission, acting as a crucial link between our organisation, the community, and the diverse pool of international talent eager to contribute. You will be responsible for the entire volunteer lifecycle, from initial outreach and recruitment, through onboarding and training, to ongoing support and recognition. This involves understanding the unique motivations and potential barriers faced by individuals from different cultural backgrounds, including language differences, visa restrictions, and adaptation challenges. Your work will ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment where every volunteer feels valued, understood, and empowered to make a significant impact.

You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to attract foreign volunteers, designing engaging programmes that cater to their skills and interests, and providing pastoral care and guidance to ensure their experience is positive and enriching. This position offers an exciting opportunity to not only drive community initiatives but also to promote cross-cultural understanding and foster a truly global spirit right here in Edinburgh. If you are a proactive, empathetic, and organised individual with a deep appreciation for diversity and a commitment to empowering others, we encourage you to apply and help us build a more connected and inclusive city.
