Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests, presenting menus and explaining daily specials.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, using a POS system, and relaying them to kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Anticipate guest needs, offering recommendations, and upsell when appropriate.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with patience and a problem-solving attitude.
- Process payments efficiently and accurately, handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, ensuring tables are reset quickly and correctly.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic math and handling cash transactions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine pairings and cocktails.
- Serving It Right (Saskatchewan) certification or equivalent.
