Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Help patients with mobility, transferring, and positioning.
- Support patients with feeding and ensure adequate hydration.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately record observations, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and ward areas.
- Assist nurses with various medical procedures and patient care tasks as directed.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Replenish medical supplies and ensure equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting environment.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (CXC/GCE passes preferred)
- Certification in Caregiving, Nursing Assistant, or Home Health Aide from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or caregiving setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong empathy and compassion for patients
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Physical stamina to perform duties that may require lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Reliability and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical ward setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
