Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently receive, unload, and thoroughly inspect incoming merchandise for any damages or discrepancies, documenting findings accurately.
  • Accurately count and verify stock against delivery notes and invoices, ensuring precision in inventory management.
  • Organise, tag, and store merchandise in designated areas within the warehouse/stockroom, optimising space utilisation and ensuring easy accessibility.
  • Assist diligently with the preparation and dispatch of outgoing stock transfers to other stores or departments, adhering to schedules.
  • Maintain a consistently clean, safe, and highly organised work environment, strictly adhering to company policies and health & safety regulations.
  • Actively support inventory counts and stocktaking procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency as required.
  • Safely and efficiently operate basic warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Assist store staff with merchandising, replenishment, and general store tasks as needed to maintain high retail standards.
  • Promptly report any stock discrepancies, damages, or potential safety concerns to the supervising manager.
  • Adhere strictly to all company operational procedures, security protocols, and ethical guidelines at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to read labels, accurately count stock, and verify documents.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Highly reliable and punctual, demonstrating a strong and dedicated work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a cohesive team.
  • Excellent organisational and effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proactive commitment to maintaining a consistently clean, tidy, and safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even informal) in a warehouse, retail stockroom, or similar physical labour role.
  • A foundational understanding of basic inventory management principles.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of pallet jacks or other manual handling equipment.
  • A valid driver's license (Code B) could be considered an advantage, though not a strict requirement for this specific role.
