Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
- Lead, motivate, train, and develop a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and security protocols to maintain a safe working environment and comply with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Operate and oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., procurement, customer service) to ensure smooth operations and resolve any logistical issues.
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports, analyzing data to identify trends and inform decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse leadership or supervisory role (minimum 4 years).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification (Reach and Counterbalance).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of cold chain logistics or specific industry standards relevant to goods handled.
