Job Description

Shoprite Lesotho is actively seeking dedicated Warehouse Pickers to join our vibrant team in Mafeteng. In this critical full-time role, you will be at the very heart of our operational efficiency, playing a vital part in ensuring the seamless flow of goods from our Mafeteng warehouse to our various retail outlets across the region. Your primary responsibility will involve accurately picking and preparing customer orders, meticulously scanning items for inventory accuracy, consolidating shipments, and conducting thorough quality checks to ensure all products meet our stringent standards before dispatch. You will also be instrumental in maintaining inventory integrity, assisting with periodic stock counts, and actively contributing to a well-organized, clean, and safe warehouse space, adhering to all health and safety regulations. This position demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to work efficiently under time constraints, the capacity to safely operate manual and powered material handling equipment (comprehensive training will be provided), and an unwavering commitment to upholding our high standards of service and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and prepare customer orders according to specified quantities, product codes, and deadlines.
  • Verify product quantities and ensure all items are free from damage or defects before packing and dispatch.
  • Safely and efficiently operate manual and powered material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the warehouse, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with the receiving of incoming goods, proper stock rotation (FIFO), and accurate inventory counts as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures, operational guidelines, and quality control standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure daily targets and operational goals are met.
  • Promptly report any discrepancies, damages, or equipment malfunctions to appropriate supervisory staff.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy items regularly (up to 25kg) throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in task execution.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain productivity in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels, count stock, and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or retail stockroom setting.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management systems or handheld scanners.
  • Certification in operating specific material handling equipment (e.g., forklift license) is an advantage, though not strictly required as training will be provided.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, as per operational needs.
