Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of warehouse associates, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency and operational flow.
- Implement and enforce operational procedures to improve workflow, productivity, and order fulfillment accuracy.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments (e.g., procurement, transport, sales) to ensure seamless operations and timely deliveries.
- Operate and maintain various warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews, and contribute to hiring processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in warehouse supervision or a similar leadership role within a logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of comprehensive warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, and shipping procedures.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 kg repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability to obtain one rapidly upon employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Lean warehousing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- First aid certification.
- Fluency in German (desirable for local communication and team interaction).
- Experience with hazardous materials handling regulations.
