This critical role involves overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, with a primary focus on managing inventory accuracy, optimising dispatch processes, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods from receiving to shipment.

You’ll be responsible for supervising all inbound and outbound logistics activities, from goods receipt and put-away to order picking, packing, and dispatch. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, focusing on inventory management, order fulfilment, and dispatch operations.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counting and reconciliation, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and space utilisation to maximise efficiency and capacity.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, dispatch efficiency, and team productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales, customer service) to ensure seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and ensure proper use by staff.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse supervision, with a strong emphasis on inventory and dispatch.
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a warehousing context.
  • Forklift truck licence (reach, counter-balance) with proven experience.
  • Previous experience implementing new WMS or inventory control processes.
