Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular stock counts, reconciliations, and effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Oversee and optimise the dispatch process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a productive and positive working environment.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, dispatch efficiency, and operational costs.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce operational inefficiencies.
- Conduct regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods to maintain high standards.
- Liaise effectively with other departments, including transport, sales, and procurement, to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and ensure all operatives are trained in safe operation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role, with a strong focus on inventory and dispatch.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and security regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
