Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely unload incoming freight from trucks and containers, both manually and using appropriate equipment.
- Verify product quantities against manifests and identify any discrepancies or damages, reporting them promptly.
- Organise and sort unloaded goods in designated staging areas, ensuring proper placement for subsequent processing.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and effectively, following training guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment within the unloading bay and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required, including occasional loading or reorganising stock.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail for verifying shipments and identifying discrepancies.
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Commitment to adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
