Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and check incoming goods against invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and quality, noting any discrepancies.
  • Efficiently store goods in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO), accessibility, and optimized space utilization.
  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to established procedures, ensuring items are correct and securely prepared for dispatch.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts (if certified), in a safe and responsible manner, conducting pre-operation checks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times, adhering strictly to all company safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts, assist with stock reconciliation, and report any stock variances to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with loading outgoing shipments onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper documentation, secure stacking, and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to optimize warehouse operations, identify areas for improvement, and meet daily and weekly targets.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods, reading labels, and completing documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for inventory counting, order verification, and record-keeping.
  • Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to all procedures, and willingness to undergo safety training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience (e.g., 6-12 months) in a warehouse, logistics, retail stock, or similar physical labor environment.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one (an advantage for career progression).
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management systems or handheld scanning devices.
