Career.zycto is actively seeking a talented and enthusiastic Web Application Developer to join our growing team in Dandora, Nairobi. As a Web Application Developer, you will be instrumental in the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to deployment and maintenance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers, to translate business requirements into high-quality code. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure web applications using best practices.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code primarily using JavaScript (Node.js/React.js) and related frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners and UI/UX designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement and integrate APIs and third-party services.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and post-launch support.
- Stay updated with emerging web technologies and industry trends to propose and implement innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
- Strong experience with a front-end framework (e.g., React.js, Angular, Vue.js)
- Solid understanding of back-end development with Node.js and Express.js (or similar frameworks like Python/Django, PHP/Laravel)
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs design and development
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
