Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following established recipes and standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and inventory.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
- Monitor guest consumption and responsibly refuse service when necessary, adhering to all provincial liquor laws.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, and preparing for the next shift.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and floor staff to ensure seamless service.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of professional bartending experience in a busy establishment.
- Valid ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Excellent knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Cash handling proficiency and experience with POS systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialty craft cocktails and mixology trends.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or lounge setting.
- Enthusiasm for learning new recipes and techniques.
