Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, fire, and other security risks.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment, promptly responding to any alerts or suspicious activities.
- Control access to premises, verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs of all persons entering and exiting.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security breaches, initiating emergency protocols as required.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on observations, incidents, and any security breaches, submitting them to management in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to clients, employees, and visitors while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all individuals on the property.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Conduct safety checks and identify potential hazards, reporting them for corrective action.
Required Skills
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS)
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security technology
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Proficiency in incident report writing and documentation
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment under pressure
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts
- Basic first aid and CPR knowledge (certification preferred, but can be obtained post-hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of prior experience in a security guard role
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Experience with de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
