Ltd. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Welding Apprentice Technician to join our team in Kiuyu, Mtambwe. As a Welding Apprentice Technician, you will embark on a structured learning journey, gaining hands-on experience in various welding techniques, metal fabrication, and workshop safety protocols. You will assist senior welders and technicians in preparing materials, executing basic welding tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced welders and technicians in daily fabrication, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Learn and apply various welding processes (e.g., Arc, MIG, TIG) under close supervision.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine inspection and quality checks on welded joints.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contribute to overall workshop cleanliness.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to enhance welding proficiency.
  • Handle and move materials and finished products as required.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25kg), and standing for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a vocational training program or technical course in welding or metal fabrication.
  • Basic certificate in welding or a related trade.
  • Prior experience (even informal) with metalworking or workshop environments.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
