Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough review and analysis of a wide range of commercial contracts, including sales agreements, procurement contracts, non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, and service level agreements.
- Identify potential legal, commercial, and operational risks within contracts and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all contractual documentation adheres strictly to legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice and interpretations to internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Collaborate with business development, sales, procurement, and project teams to facilitate contract negotiation processes and ensure favourable terms for BAE Systems.
- Draft, redline, and amend contractual clauses and documents as required, maintaining consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain comprehensive records of contract reviews, revisions, and approvals within designated systems.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support the development and refinement of contract templates, guidelines, and best practices.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes and addressing queries from internal and external parties.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in contract law, commercial law, and corporate governance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong ability to interpret complex legal documents and identify key issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales, or equivalent legal qualification from a common law jurisdiction.
- Experience working in-house for a large multinational corporation, particularly within the defence, aerospace, or technology sectors.
- Familiarity with international commercial law and cross-border transactions.
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., IACCM, NCMA).
- Experience with government contracts and public sector procurement regulations.
