Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and experienced fundraising professional with a passion for social impact? Coventry Cyrenians is seeking a dedicated and proactive Work from Home Nonprofit Development Officer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to our mission by securing vital funds that support our life-changing services across Coventry and Warwickshire. Working remotely, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, identifying new funding opportunities, and cultivating lasting relationships with donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, corporate partners, and major donors.
  • Prepare compelling grant applications, proposals, and reports, ensuring adherence to submission deadlines and funder guidelines.
  • Manage and steward an existing portfolio of donors, fostering strong, long-term relationships through regular communication and engagement.
  • Organise and participate in fundraising events, donor cultivation activities, and networking opportunities (virtually and in-person as required).
  • Monitor fundraising performance against targets, providing regular reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising activities and donor interactions using CRM software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., communications, service delivery) to gather information and develop compelling case for support materials.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with charity law, data protection regulations (GDPR), and best practice guidelines.
  • Contribute to the annual budget setting process for fundraising income and expenditure.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in fundraising and development, particularly with trusts, foundations, or corporate partnerships.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing successful grant applications and proposals.
  • Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship abilities.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) for donor management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in budget management and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification in fundraising (e.g., Certificate in Fundraising from the Institute of Fundraising).
  • Understanding of the social care or homelessness sector in the UK.
  • Experience with digital fundraising platforms and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with the Coventry and Warwickshire funding landscape.
