Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout and identify emerging musical talent across various genres through live performances, online platforms, and industry events.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, producers, and other industry contacts.
- Evaluate demos, live performances, and social media presence to assess artistic merit and commercial potential.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on potential signings, including market analysis, competitive landscape, and proposed development plans.
- Negotiate and facilitate artist agreements and contracts in collaboration with legal and business affairs teams.
- Collaborate with internal marketing, promotion, and artist development teams to strategize and execute artist launches.
- Stay informed on current music trends, technological advancements, and shifts in consumer behavior within the music industry.
- Represent Career.zycto at industry events, showcases, and conferences.
- Manage a robust pipeline of prospective artists and provide timely feedback.
- Mentor and guide new artists through their early career stages.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an A&R representative or talent scout in the music industry.
- Deep and broad knowledge of various music genres and current industry trends.
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating artistic potential and commercial viability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and articulate unique artistic qualities.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in music industry software and digital platforms for talent discovery.
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is highly advantageous for the Quebec market.
