Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive and detailed nutritional assessments for a diverse range of patients, meticulously evaluating their dietary habits, lifestyle choices, and specific health goals.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine individualized nutrition plans and evidence-based strategies, precisely tailored to patients' unique needs, preferences, and medical conditions.
- Provide expert one-on-one counseling sessions and facilitate engaging group education sessions on a wide array of nutrition topics, including but not limited to weight management, chronic disease prevention, sports nutrition, and balanced healthy eating.
- Proactively monitor and rigorously evaluate patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to nutrition plans and interventions to ensure the achievement of effective and sustainable outcomes.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with physicians, registered dietitians, and other allied healthcare professionals to seamlessly integrate nutritional care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Conceptualize, develop, and deliver compelling and easily understandable educational materials, workshops, and presentations for patients, their families, and the wider community.
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to staying abreast of the latest scientific research, emerging trends, and best practices in nutrition and dietetics to ensure the provision of evidence-based care.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient records in strict compliance with professional ethical standards and organizational policies.
- Actively participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and continuous training programs to consistently enhance skills, knowledge, and clinical competency.
- Contribute proactively to the strategic development and continuous improvement of wellness programs and nutrition services offered within C-Care Mauritius.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Registered or licensed Nutritionist in Mauritius, or actively eligible for immediate registration/licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive clinical experience in nutritional counseling and applied dietetics.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough nutritional assessments and expertly develop personalized, actionable meal plans.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities, including empathy, active listening, and the capacity to effectively motivate patients.
- Profound knowledge of nutritional science, national dietary guidelines, and public health nutrition principles.
- Proficiency in utilizing health management software systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to excel and work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Clinical Dietetics, or a related advanced academic degree.
- Prior experience in a hospital, clinical, or community health setting, particularly with a focus on chronic disease management or preventative health programs.
- Fluency in both French and English is highly desirable (proficiency in Mauritian Creole is considered a significant advantage).
- Additional certifications in specialized areas such as sports nutrition, pediatric nutrition, diabetes education, or weight management.
- Experience in developing and delivering corporate wellness programs or leading community health initiatives.
