Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Warehouse Assistant specializing in Inventory Control to join our dynamic team in Syokimau, Nairobi. This crucial role is instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring smooth operations from receiving to dispatch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meticulously tracking stock movements, conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and collaborating closely with various departments to optimize inventory levels. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages) and report findings.
  • Maintain precise inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to prevent stock-outs or overstock situations.
  • Assist in the receiving, inspection, and proper storage of incoming goods.
  • Ensure accurate picking, packing, and dispatch of outgoing orders according to specifications.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse layout for optimal space utilization and accessibility.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently, if certified.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive inventory reports for management as required.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Assist in training new warehouse personnel on inventory best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, specifically with inventory control.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Valid forklift operator's license (optional, but a plus).
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with various inventory methodologies (e.g., FIFO, LIFO).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within the logistics or distribution industry.
