Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor anaesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and stability.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and radiographs.
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, exercising, and administering necessary treatments.
- Educate pet owners on animal healthcare, post-operative care, nutrition, and preventive medicine.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all medical information is thoroughly documented.
- Prepare surgical suites and examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and sterility.
- Manage and maintain clinic inventory, including medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Handle client communications professionally and empathetically, answering questions and providing support.
- Assist with euthanasia procedures, offering compassionate support to pet owners.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician.
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and pharmacology.
- Ability to monitor and interpret vital signs.
- Excellent aseptic technique and surgical preparation skills.
- Competence in performing laboratory tests (e.g., blood work, urinalysis).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of empathy and compassion for animals and their owners.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing or Animal Health Technology.
- Experience with Avimark or similar veterinary practice management software.
- Knowledge of exotic animal care.
- Fluency in French and English.
