You will be responsible for ensuring the children’s well-being, promoting their growth through engaging play and learning, and maintaining open communication with the parents. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and compassionate daily care for children, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, creative play, and outdoor excursions to stimulate development.
- Ensure the children’s safety and well-being at all times, both inside and outside the home.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to any dietary requirements.
- Assist children with homework, school projects, and promote good study habits.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of children’s play areas, bedrooms, and belongings.
- Manage children's laundry, ensuring their clothes are clean and organized.
- Facilitate creative and imaginative play, reading sessions, and other engaging activities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children’s daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Administer medication as needed, strictly following parental instructions and medical guidelines.
- Supervise and coordinate children's appointments (e.g., doctor visits, extracurricular activities) as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a nanny, caregiver, or in a similar childcare role.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to adapt to family routines, preferences, and cultural nuances.
- Basic cooking skills, specifically for preparing children's meals.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Childcare certification (e.g., NCE, OND in Early Childhood Education or a related field).
- Experience with specific age groups, such as infants, toddlers, or school-aged children.
- Knowledge of early childhood development stages and educational methodologies.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if required for school runs or errands).
- Fluency in an additional Nigerian language.
