Job Description
Laxmanbhai & Co (Kenya) Ltd is actively seeking experienced and highly dedicated Bricklayers to join our dynamic construction teams on various ongoing and upcoming projects situated within Mombasa, Mombasa County. As a Bricklayer, you will serve as a vital artisan within our on-site construction operations, primarily responsible for executing high-quality brickwork and blockwork. This will involve working diligently in strict accordance with intricate project specifications, detailed architectural drawings, and our stringent company safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
- Mix mortar and other compounds, ensuring correct ratios and consistency for optimal bonding.
- Interpret and work accurately from blueprints, drawings, and written specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to precise dimensions using hand and power tools.
- Ensure alignment, plumbing, and leveling of all masonry work.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding and working platforms safely when required.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Inspect finished masonry work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals and tradespersons on site.
- Report any structural defects or safety concerns to the site supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer or Mason on construction sites.
- Proficiency in various bricklaying techniques and methods.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent measurement and calculation skills.
- Physical strength and stamina for demanding work, including lifting heavy materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Solid understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in Masonry or Bricklaying from a recognized institution.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of different types of mortar and their applications.
