Key Responsibilities
- Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism.
- Verify patient demographic, insurance, and prescription information, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Facilitate prior authorizations and manage prescription refills, coordinating with prescribers as needed.
- Document all patient interactions and prescription details meticulously in the electronic system.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists to resolve complex medication-related issues and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a secure and confidential work environment, adhering to all HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with pharmacy best practices and company procedures.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting colleagues and department goals.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
- Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of California.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a call center, retail, or mail-order setting.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy law, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and general computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) systems.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Experience with remote work tools and platforms.
