Key Responsibilities

  • Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism.
  • Verify patient demographic, insurance, and prescription information, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Facilitate prior authorizations and manage prescription refills, coordinating with prescribers as needed.
  • Document all patient interactions and prescription details meticulously in the electronic system.
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacists to resolve complex medication-related issues and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a secure and confidential work environment, adhering to all HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with pharmacy best practices and company procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting colleagues and department goals.

Required Skills

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a call center, retail, or mail-order setting.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy law, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) systems.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is a plus.
  • Experience with remote work tools and platforms.
