Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Murambinda, Manicaland Province. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our strategic objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing innovative and impactful L&D programs, from leadership development to technical skills training. You will be responsible for identifying skill gaps, creating engaging content, leveraging modern learning technologies, and measuring the effectiveness of all training interventions. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and diverse teams. As a key member of our leadership team, you will shape the future capabilities of our workforce, ensuring Career.zycto remains at the forefront of talent development within Zimbabwe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy that supports organizational goals and enhances employee performance and career growth.
  • Design, implement, and manage a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through needs assessments, performance data, and strategic planning.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies and platforms (LMS, e-learning tools).
  • Partner with department heads and senior leadership to ensure L&D initiatives are aligned with business needs and priorities.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and ROI of all learning programs, making data-driven improvements.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and external vendor relationships.
  • Foster a strong learning culture within the organization, promoting self-directed learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor and develop a small team of L&D professionals, if applicable, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in learning and development, incorporating innovative approaches.
