Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent strategy in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province. This pivotal role is perfect for a seasoned L&D professional ready to design, implement, and oversee comprehensive learning initiatives that align directly with our strategic objectives and foster a culture of continuous growth and high performance. You will be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, developing innovative training programs, and leveraging technology to enhance employee capabilities across all levels of the organization.

As our Director of L&D, you will be responsible for creating a robust learning ecosystem that supports career progression, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. You will assess current and future training needs, develop engaging curricula, and manage resources to deliver impactful learning experiences. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership qualities, a passion for people development, and a proven track record of driving significant improvements in employee engagement and performance through learning interventions. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to ensure our learning strategies are integrated, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of our workforce and industry landscape. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, strategic Learning & Development framework aligned with organizational goals and future workforce needs.
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across all departments.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative learning programs, workshops, and resources, including e-learning modules, blended learning approaches, and leadership development programs.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximum impact of all initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation methodologies to measure the effectiveness and ROI of L&D programs, reporting on progress and making data-driven adjustments.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives with broader talent management strategies, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and adult learning theories to ensure Career.zycto remains at the forefront of talent development.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing large-scale L&D strategies and programs.
  • Expertise in instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and various training methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of inspiring and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in managing L&D budgets and resources effectively.
  • Advanced analytical skills for assessing program effectiveness and making data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into impactful learning solutions.
  • Change management expertise, comfortable navigating and leading organizational transformation through learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Learning & Development (e.g., CPTD, CPT, SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience working in a professional services or fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with global or regional L&D best practices and cultural nuances.
  • Proven ability to integrate AI and other emerging technologies into learning solutions.
