Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Bulawayo Province, Zimbabwe. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's overall business objectives and talent strategy.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance training, and professional growth initiatives.
  • Oversee the full training lifecycle, from conducting needs assessments and curriculum design to program evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and programs deliver maximum ROI.
  • Build and lead a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to identify critical skill gaps and future talent needs, proposing proactive learning solutions.
  • Implement and leverage learning technologies (LMS, e-learning platforms) to enhance accessibility, engagement, and efficiency of learning programs.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for L&D initiatives, providing regular reports on program effectiveness and impact on business results.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization, promoting self-directed learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends to ensure Career.zycto's L&D function remains cutting-edge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing strategic Learning & Development programs in a corporate environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop L&D professionals.
  • Expertise in instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and various learning methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within established timelines and budgets.
  • Proficiency in leveraging Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other e-learning technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with change management principles and their application in organizational learning initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development), SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic industry or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with the socio-economic and educational landscape of Zimbabwe or similar emerging markets.
  • Experience with global or regional talent development initiatives.
