Career.zycto is seeking an exceptionally skilled and visionary Director of Research & Development to lead our innovation efforts in Chitungwiza, Harare Province. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with company goals and market opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of R&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from ideation and prototyping to testing, launch, and post-launch analysis.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and partnerships that can enhance our product offerings and competitive advantage.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines efficiently, ensuring projects are delivered on scope and within budget.
- Establish robust intellectual property strategies, including patenting new inventions and protecting proprietary technologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to ensure seamless integration of R&D outputs into overall business strategy.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to proactively adapt R&D initiatives.
- Communicate R&D progress, challenges, and successes to executive leadership and other stakeholders regularly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (10+ years) in R&D leadership roles, preferably within the Technology or Software Development sector.
- Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities, with a track record of bringing innovative products to market.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage high-performing R&D teams.
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
- Deep understanding of modern software development practices, engineering principles, and emerging technologies.
