As our Event Coverage Photographer, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of tasks, from pre-event planning and on-site execution to meticulous post-production. You’ll work closely with our project managers, marketing team, and clients to ensure every shot aligns with brand guidelines and project objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-event planning and reconnaissance, collaborating with event managers and clients to understand photographic requirements and key moments.
- Execute high-quality event photography on-site, capturing candid moments, key speakers, performances, attendees, venue details, and overall atmosphere.
- Operate and maintain professional camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and other accessories efficiently during fast-paced events.
- Perform advanced post-production tasks including photo selection, colour correction, retouching, and cropping to meet high-quality standards and client specifications.
- Organize and manage digital assets, ensuring proper cataloguing, backup, and timely delivery of images.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure visual content aligns with brand guidelines and contributes to overall media strategies.
- Provide creative input and suggestions for improving visual storytelling and enhancing the photographic output of events.
- Travel to various event locations within Nairobi and potentially across Kenya as required.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver all photographic assets promptly and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional event photographer with a strong, diverse portfolio.
- Expert proficiency in professional-grade DSLR/mirrorless cameras and various lenses.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and other photo editing software.
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to diverse and dynamic event environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with clients and team members.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Reliable and possess a strong work ethic, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Photography, Media Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with various event types including corporate, lifestyle, entertainment, and social gatherings.
- Knowledge of digital asset management systems.
