Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent strategy in Mashonaland Central Province. This pivotal role is more than just managing training programs; it’s about shaping the future capabilities of our entire organization. As the strategic architect of our learning initiatives, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive development frameworks that empower our employees at all levels – from entry-level professionals to executive leadership. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, strategic learning and development vision aligned with Career.zycto’s business objectives and growth trajectory.
  • Design, implement, and manage a wide range of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and soft skills enhancement.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and gap analyses to identify critical skill requirements and future talent development priorities across all organizational levels.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies and platforms (LMS, e-learning tools) to ensure effective and accessible learning experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and department heads to integrate L&D initiatives into overall talent management strategies, performance reviews, and career pathing.
  • Establish and monitor key L&D metrics, including ROI, engagement rates, and performance improvements, using data to continuously evaluate program effectiveness and drive iterative enhancements.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships efficiently, ensuring high-quality delivery within financial parameters.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends to ensure Career.zycto remains at the forefront of learning innovation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or Director-level role.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale, impactful L&D programs in a corporate setting.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective learning solutions.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and various training delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of L&D professionals.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using data to measure L&D effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., HR, Organizational Psychology, Education).
  • Professional certifications in L&D (e.g., CPLP, ATD Certification).
  • Experience working within the professional services or consulting industry.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and HRIS integration.
  • Experience in organizational change management and cultural transformation initiatives.
